I am a Vancouver-based dietitian with 30 years of clinical experience. Most recently, I provided nutrition counselling for patients at the Vancouver General Hospital Out-Patient Nutrition Clinic. I am a member of the Dietitians of Canada and the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.
In addition to my work as a clinical dietitian, I worked as a personal chef, taught at UBC’s School of Food, Nutrition, and Health, and perhaps the most challenging job of all, I raised two sons on mostly home-prepared food, while working outside the home.
I recommend foods to buy and easy ways to include them in a diet tailored for each client. My recommendations are based on my knowledge and experience, as well as current nutritional research. I provide practical advice for enjoyable eating that will improve your health. I may also make recommendations related to supplementation, relaxation, sleep and physical activity as along with what we eat, they also have a powerful effect on health.
What a valuable hour spent with you! You offered both insights into the Fodmap diet and a clear path forward. I came away from our time together more informed and equipped, excited and optimistic. I very much appreciated your professional, yet realistic and candid approach; compassionate nature; wealth of knowledge; and general user-friendly demeanour.
I can do this. It won't be so hard to make these changes.
